Railway 2000 (Israel)

Analogous to Switzerland, Israel launched a programme called "Railway 2000" in the 1990s. Its aim was to make the railways more attractive and competitive compared to the roads. Since then, the Israeli state has invested billions in infrastructure and rolling stock. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the growth rates of rail traffic were sometimes more than 10 percent per year. Part of the expansion was the new Ra'anana South station and the 4.7-kilometre Gilon tunnel.

RUBI Railtec acted as project manager for the fixed track in both projects. This included design and organisation of all planning stages as well as execution. Quality assurance, management of the construction teams, organisation on site including training were also part of our tasks.
