Operating regulations for railway sidings

There are hundreds of railway sidings in Switzerland. They connect industrial and logistics facilities directly to the railway network, preventing goods from having to be transferred from cargo trains to lorries and vice versa. The Federal Office of Transport (FOT) sets requirements to ensure that Swiss sidings are operated safely. This includes that owners must have operating regulations.

FIXIT AG operates several sidings in Holderbank. RUBI Bahntechnik drew up new operating regulations for these in accordance with federal guidelines. Our assignment included a compiling existing documents, an on-site inspection, preparing operating regulations according to our manual, a correction run including consultation with all parties involved (e.g. SBB Infrastructure and railway operators) as well as the administrative completion with signature run, submission to the FOT, and entry in its online database.
